Tracie Matheney, CPA
Tracie is a CPA and a principal of the firm with a valuable blend of Corporate and Public Accounting experience. She spent four years as controller of a national financial services company headquartered in Spokane Valley, Washington and thirty years as a practicing public accountant serving clients in Washington and Idaho. Prior to forming the firm of Matheney & Matheney, CPAs in 2004 and merging her client base into the firm, she operated her own practice in Spokane Valley, Washington helping small and medium sized businesses and individual clients minimize their taxes and manage their financial affairs.
Tracie has a wealth of experience assisting clients with Federal and State income taxes, employment tax returns, sales and excise tax returns, tax planning, preparing financial statements, processing payroll and training on QuickBooks. Her focus has always been on saving her clients’ taxes within the limits of the law.
She is a licensed CPA in the state of Washington, a member of the Washington State Society of CPAs and an accounting graduate of The Ohio State University.
J. Keith Matheney, CPA
Keith is an early retiree from a major forest products company, where he had a very successful thirty-year career. The first sixteen years were spent in accounting and controllership positions in several major divisions and businesses of the company. In the fourteen subsequent years, he held corporate senior management level positions as Vice
President of Sales and Marketing, Group Vice President and finished his career as Executive Vice President of the corporation. In 2004, he and Tracie formed Matheney & Matheney, CPAs and he has been in public practice as a principal since then. He has a unique blend of finance, tax and accounting, sales and marketing, along with business and corporate management experience that is very beneficial to the clients of Matheney & Matheney, CPAs.
Keith’s passion is to use his substantial accounting, tax and business experience to help small and medium sized businesses in the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene areas be more successful in their business and financial lives.
He is a CPA licensed in the states of Texas and Washington and a graduate in accounting from the University of Akron. He is also a graduate of the Mahler Advanced Management Training Program, a member of the Washington State Society of CPAs and has served on the board of directors of two major public companies and one private company in the building materials industry.
Lori Hedge
Lori joined Matheney & Matheney, CPAs in 2004 as a payroll and bookkeeping specialist. Her responsibilities today include overseeing and training staff, income tax preparation, processing payroll and payroll tax returns, large client bookkeeping and client communication. She brings 20 years of experience working in accounting, tax and as a payroll specialist.
Lori was born in Barberton, OH and raised in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. She currently lives in Spokane Valley, WA with her husband and dog Nike.
Krisha Anderson
Krisha joined Matheney & Matheney, CPAs in 2018 as a payroll and bookkeeping specialist. Her responsibilities today include processing payroll and payroll tax returns, income tax preparation, bookkeeping, sales and use tax return preparation and client communication. She is proficient in QuickBooks and QuickBooks online. She brings 6 years of experience working in accounting, tax and as a payroll specialist. Krisha received her Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Idaho in 2017.
Born and raised in Post Falls, ID. She currently lives in Spokane Valley, WA with her husband.
Kaelyn Smart
Kaelyn joined Matheney & Matheney CPAs in 2021 as an income tax preparer along with payroll and bookkeeping specialist. Her responsibilities today include preparing income tax returns, processing payroll and payroll tax returns, bookkeeping, sales and use tax return preparation and client communication. She is proficient in QuickBooks and our current tax preparation software. Kaelyn received her Bachelor of Professional Accounting in 2021, as well as her Master of Professional Accounting in 2022 from Eastern Washington University.
Born and raised in Spokane Valley, WA. She currently lives in Spokane Valley, WA with her husband, dog, and horse.
